‘Locke & Key’ Fills Out Its Cast With Jesse McCartney
0
Despite numerous setbacks, the pilot for Locke & Key is progressing nicely. The last major cast member has been announced: actor/singer Jesse McCartney will play Tyler Locke, the oldest of the Locke children.
Jesse McCartney’s star may have dimmed since his teen idol days, but he’s still getting consistent acting work. He’s recently transitioned to voice acting, providing vocal talent for Horton Hears a Who in 2008 and Theodore in all three Alvin and the Chipmunks movies. He’s also been a consistent member of the talent pool for the well-received Kingdom Hearts video game franchise, and plays the voice of Robin on Cartoon Network’s latest superhero show Young Justice. McCartney’s most visible role of late has been an arc on ABC Family’s Greek.

Pam Grier Joins RZA’s ‘Man With the Iron Fists’

Foxy Brown herself (actress Pam Grier) is headed out to the land of Shanghai for some stylish martial arts action in Wu-Tang Clan co-founder RZA’s Kung Fu throwback film and directorial debut, The Man With the Iron Fists.
The blaxploitation icon is starring in RZA’s passion project, which the rapper, musical producer, and occasional actor describes as a mashup of classic Kung Fu cinema, the spaghetti western genre, and “hip hop influence.” Add to that the involvement of Eli Roth (Hostel) behind the scenes, and there’s little doubt that Man With the Iron Fists won’t be a bloody homage in the vein of Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill.
Miss Grier tweeted about her being involved with RZA’s $20 million project, which is currently in the midst of production overseas in Asia. Younger moviegoers are ...

Actress Jeri Ryan (Star Trek: Voyager) has confirmed that she will be reprising her role as Sonya Blade in the new Mortal Kombat web series and movie that were announced a few weeks back, based on the web short “Mortal Kombat Rebirth” by director Kevin Tancharoen, whose passion for the franchise has led to this Mortal Kombat revival on both the Web and the big-screen.
There was a lot of speculation early on that Ryan would be back to expand her role as Sonya in the “Rebirth” web short into a full-fledged leading role in (presumably) both the upcoming Mortal Kombat web episodes and the movie they are building up to. Better than any report from a website, confirmation of the actress’ involvement in the resurrected MK franchise ...

0
James Cameron has been searching for a filmmaker to helm his latest 3D cinematic expedition into an exotic world, a remake of the 1966 sci-fi venture Fantastic Voyage, and has at last found his man in the form of Night at the Museum and Real Steel director, Shawn Levy.
Levy has been recruited by 20th Century Fox and Cameron to direct the motion picture – a project that will require copious amounts of CGI to realize its extravagant setting: the interior of a human body.
Deadline has confirmed that Levy is onboard for its new-and-improved Fantastic Voyage, which Louis Leterrier was previously in contention to direct.
