Sounds Like "Apes" Will Talk In The Sequel

0

With Fox already quickly moving on assembling a sequel to Rupert Wyatt‘s well-received "Rise of the Planet of the Apes", the film's scribes Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver let slip to podcaster Jeff Goldsmith (via Bleeding Cool) one thing we might see in the follow-up:

"We’re working on the sequel right now, to the prequel, and so the excitement is – I’m not gonna tell you, but – are they gonna talk or not? Part of the challenge was how to get across what was happening between the apes without words. In the end I think it was a good challenge for us. It created better storytelling."

The duo also mentioned a possible title "Rise of the Planet of the Apes: Part Two" however it was apparently said more in jest.

TV News: Ratings, Archer, Sherlock

Archer
The strongest comedy on television right now, FX's darkly comic and deliciously dirty adult spy satire "Archer" returns for its third full season starting January 19th at 10pm.

Now FX has released a bunch of new stills along with five new promos for the season which you can get a glimpse of below. A DVD of the second season and Blu-ray sets for the first two seasons are scheduled for release next Tuesday.

Ratings
FOX's "Terra Nova" finished its first season run this past week with 7.2 million viewers and a 2.2 rating, not a definitive number either way to indicate whether another season will be given the green light.

Over on Showtime "Dexter" closed out its sixth season with 2.2 million viewers, slightly down on the 2.5 million viewers for last year's finale but was the show's best rated episode of the season. It has already been renewed for two more years.

Showtime's new series "Homeland" closed its run with a solid 1.7 million viewers, a series high and Showtime's best-ever numbers for a freshman finale. The network has already renewed the series for a second season. [Source: E! Online]

Sherlock
The much anticipated second season of the BBC's "Sherlock" begins in the UK on New Year's Day and today the network has released the first two clips from the first TV movie - "A Scandal in Belgravia".
