Screen Rant’s Ben Kendrick reviews We Bought a Zoo
Writer/director Cameron Crowe has helmed a number of iconic and critically acclaimed films – including Jerry Maguire, Almost Famous, and Vanilla Sky. However, the celebrated filmmaker hit a wall when his 2005 drama, Elizabethtown was poorly received and underperformed at the box office.
As a result, film fans have been eagerly anticipating Crowe‘s follow-up feature project, We Bought a Zoo – an adaptation of writer Benjamin Mee‘s memoir, We Bought a Zoo: The Amazing True Story of a Young Family, a Broken Down Zoo, and the 200 Wild Animals That Changed Their Lives Forever. The rich source material, coupled with Crowe‘s character-focused storytelling approach, were certainly indicators that We Bought a Zoo could offer another thoughtful and ...

Schwarzenegger To Play An Angel In ‘Black Sands’

Word got out that Arnold Schwarzengger would follow up his supporting stint in The Expendables 2 and his comeback starring role in The Last Stand with a leading turn in another action-thriller: Black Sands, a new project directed by onetime stunt supervisors Mike McCoy and Scott Waugh (the upcoming Act of Valor) based on a screenplay by The A-Team writer Skip Woods.
The film was then being described as a Commando-style flick that would pit a loner (Schwarzenegger) against a vicious weapons manufacturer; now, the project (which has not been retitled Black Sunday, despite reports to the contrary) is said to be more of a genre mashup.
Arnold Fans has the scoop on Black Sands, which will reportedly star Ah-nuld as an immortal warrior (he describes his character as “kind of an angel”) who battles ...

The Amazing Spider-Man - SPOILER ALERT
Leaked toy photos for the upcoming "The Amazing Spider-Man" show off what seems to be better glimpses of the rather oddly designed villain The Lizard, and have revealed some big set pieces we can expect to see in the film.
Amongst them are a climactic massive battle on the top of Oscorp Tower with not just the baddie but what looks like a whole SWAT team having been turned into a Lizard army. There's also a big sequence in the sewers where Dr. Conners seems to have a secret lab, and one with a bridge battle where Spidey battles Lizard with the latter in some kind of hovering aerial gunship. The Avengers - DUBIOUS SPOILER ALERT
Could Red Skull be a secret villain in the upcoming "The Avengers"? One wild rumour going around is that Red Skull will serve as a secondary villain in the film to Loki and his alien army. Thanos is also reportedly part of the action.
Trouble with this rumour is that Hugo Weaving has already categorically stated that he will not return for the Red Skull role in 'Avengers', not to mention he was never seen near the set. [Source: CBM]
Ghost Rider
It doesn't affect the upcoming film in any way, but on the comic publishing front a legal tussle over the rights to Marvel Comics hero "Ghost Rider" has been resolved with Marvel beating out writer Gary Friedrich who conceived the character in the 1970s.
Friedrich sued Marvel claiming the first film in 2007 had infringed his rights because he owned the character and sought compensation for its use in films, toys, video games and other merchandise. As he had cashed cheques from Marvel for his work though, the judge ruled he had no case. [Source: BBC]

Schwarzenegger Sent By Heaven?

A while back came the word that Arnold Schwarzenegger's first post-"Expendables 2" project would be a stripped down action thriller called "Black Sands". Turns out it won't be as stripped down as we thought.
The previous report had Arnie playing a loner who wages war against a ruthless weapons manufacturer and his private army in the American Southwest.
Now called "Black Sunday", the film is being described as a cross between "Commando and Constantine". Schwarzenegger tells The Arnold Fans that "I’m a kind of angel. I cannot currently say more about this film.”
Scott Waugh and Mike McCoy ("Act Of Valor") are directing from a script by Sergio Altieri and Kevin Elders which Skip Woods ("A Good Day To Die Hard") performed re-writes on. Filming begins in April.
