adam sandler candy land board game movie

When last we heard about Hasbro’s Candy Land board game movie adaptation, it was being scripted by Kung Fu Panda duo Jonathan Aibel and Glenn Berger. The pair revealed they were fashioning the movie as an all-ages-friendly mix of action and comedy that would unfold like a Lord of the Rings-style fantasy adventure, set in a world filled with peppermint forests and fudge swamps.

However, there’s no longer any point in debating whether or not that sounds like a good idea – seeing how the “fantasy adventure” aspect of the Candy Land adaptation is being abandoned, in favor of a film that’s bigger on laughs… as co-written by and starring none other than the top dog of high-concept comedy shlock, Adam Sandler.

Columbia Pictures, Hasbro, and Sandler’s Happy Madison Productions have announced that they ...

Mel Gibson’s ‘Get The Gringo’ Skips Theaters & Goes Straight To DirecTV

Get The Gringo goes straight to DirecTV

Mel Gibson’s latest action extravaganza Get The Gringo is set to bypass theatres altogether and arrive on DirecTV on May 1st. The film will cost $10.99 per viewing during this exclusive period, and then later in the year it will hit other outlets on Blu-ray, VOD, and digital download.

Some ...

It’s a recurring tradition for the biggest blockbuster titles hitting the silver screen in any year to be promoted during the respective Super Bowl, and 2012 will be no exception. While a handful of anticipated titles are reportedly NOT going to be featured in TV spots during Super Bowl XLVI (like The Dark Knight Rises) other tentpole pics are definitely going to make an appearance – including, Walt Disney Pictures’ costly (re: $250 million) John Carter adaptation.

Today, we have some conceptual artwork from the Mouse House’s classic sci-fi literary flick, available for viewing – along with a teaser for the actual John Carter Super Bowl spot (and yes, we know that a teaser for a commercial is kind of a stretch).

Here is Disney’s official description of the project:

“John Carter” is a sweeping action-adventure set on the mysterious and exotic planet of Barsoom (Mars) and is based on a ...

Jackson and Tom Hiddleston, took to Twitter today to partake in a half-hour online event, answering questions about The Avengers from fans. The event closed with the following sneak peek at the The Avengers Super Bowl XLVI Commercial with this short, but sweet teaser.

In the marketing so far, a big deal has been made by the choice words spoken by the villainous ...
