‘Dracula’ Retelling from ‘Mirror Mirror’ Writer in the Works

Were you already struggling to keep track of which studio was working on which Dracula retelling? Well, Sony Pictures has decided to contribute to your ongoing confusion by paying a handsome sum to acquire a pitch for yet another new spin on Bram Stoker’s iconic horror novel about the eponymous immortal blood-sucking monster of the night.
Sony’s Dracula project has already snagged Joe Roth and Palak Patel as producers. That pair’s collective resume already includes three other major classic literature retellings and/or spinoffs: Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland, this summer’s Snow White and the Huntsman, and Sam Raimi’s Oz: The Great and Powerful (which is due out in Spring 2013).
Deadline is reporting that this particular Dracula project is based on a pitch devised by Jason Keller, the primary writer on last year’s quickly-forgotten “prestigious” ...
