‘Game of Thrones’ Season 2 New Character Images & Final Preview

0

At this point there’s little to nothing left to be said about season 2 of HBO’s Game of Thrones - the network has pushed its marketing campaign of the acclaimed fantasy show pretty much as far as it can without actually showing us the episodes. Thankfully the stream of titillating  trailers, featurettes, character photos, and interactive materials are coming to an end, as the GoT returns in just one week, on April 1st, 2012.

However, in one last hurrah of marketing materials, today we have some new Game of Thrones season 2 images, and a 22-minute preview of the upcoming season, which both recaps the character and events of season 1, while offering a further glimpse of season 2.

This new season will cover book two of author George R. R. Martin’s “A Song of Fire and Ice” series, entitled “A Clash of Kings”. It will basically explore ...

Get the Gringo Trailer starring Mel Gibson

Mel Gibson’s next movie won’t be one you see in theaters (at least in the U.S.), as the star actor/director/controversy magnet will try a new distribution model out by debuting his new starring-vehicle, Get the Gringo, on Video On Demand.

Today we have the trailer for Get the Gringo to share, and it looks like Mel may be back in Lethal Weapon and Payback mode, with this new action/comedy from first-time feature director, Adrian Grunberg.

In the film, Gibson plays a character billed only as “Driver” (no relation to Ryan Gosling’s character in Drive), a crook who gets his hands on a fat stash of cash, and tries to abscond with it over the border into Mexico. Unfortunately, Driver’s border crossing is less than pleasant, and his reception by ...

Smallville Season 11 - Lex

The return of Clark Kent in Smallville season 11 will soon be upon us. Fortunately, you won’t have to wait until April 13th to find out what’s in store for everyone’s favorite Kansas boy, as series writer Brian Q. Miller has revealed some additional information about Smallville’s transition into comics.

Speaking with IGN at WonderCon this past weekend, Miller discussed the 6-month gap between the Smallville series finale and Smallville season 11; Clark’s space adventures; Chloe and Oliver trying to live in Star City; Lex being, well, Lex; DC guest stars, and more. Additionally, Miller revealed that the 12-issue Smallville season 11 will be equal in length (storywise) to a TV movie, or two to three television episodes.

Here are some excerpts from Miller’s interview:

The Plot:

We’re six months after Clark became Superman for the ...

Gareth Evans The Raid Redemption Berandal Interview

If you haven’t read my five-star review of The Raid: Redemption, let me just say: it’s one of the best action movies that I’ve seen in years. While the film itself is an entertaining experience, the story of how The Raid came to be is pretty intriguing in and of itself.

That story begins with a virtually unknown director named Gareth Evans, a trip to Indonesia that became a life-changing experience, and some truly great innovative action filmmaking born out of working with a bare-bones budget. Best of all: the story has a happy ending in the form of a truly fantastic – arguably classic – action/horror film (more on that genre combo later).

We sat down with Evans during the press day for The Raid: Redemption, to pick ...
