‘Total Recall’ Trailer: Colin Farrell’s A Futuristic Super-Spy On the Run

0

This summer’s Total Recall marks Len Wiseman’s first time in the director’s chair on a feature-length production since 2007′s Live Free or Die Hard. Actress Kate Beckinsale’s husband has been keeping busy since then by helming the pilot for the rebooted Hawaii Five-0 TV series and co-writing the last two entries in the Underworld franchise, including this past January’s Awakening.

Wiseman and Beckinsale are back and working together again (professionally) on this summer’s Total Recall, which is part remake of director Paul Verhoeven’s 1990 Arnold Schwarzenegger vehicle and part re-interpretation of the Philip K. Dick short story that inspired the latter. As promised with last week’s trailer preview, today we can offer a full teaser trailer for Wiseman’s film.

Total Recall does away with the Mars aspect of its predecessor to offer a relatively more grounded representation of the year 2084, in which a seemingly ordinary factory worker named Douglas ...

The Hunger Games holds on to the top spot at the box office

The Hunger Games held off competition from Sam Worthington and Julia Roberts and retained the top spot at the box office. The Jennifer Lawrence starrer grossed $61.1 million over the weekend, a number that ups its cume to a fantastic $251 million. The production budget for the film is a reported $78 million, so this is a major success for Lionsgate, especially considering that The Hunger Games has crossed $364 million worldwide.

Sam Worthington’s second clash with the titans debuted to disappointing results in second place. Wrath of the Titans should see out the weekend with $34.2 million, a far cry from the $61 million that Clash of the Titans banked in 2010 – that film went on to gross $163 million at the domestic ...

Catching Fire movie (the Hunger Games sequel)

Director Gary Ross’ The Hunger Games opened last weekend, crushing the competition at the box-office and coming in third for the largest opening weekend of all time – behind Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 and The Dark Knight (#1 for the biggest non-sequel opening weekend). The questions on everyone’s mind now are: How far will this first installation in the franchise go? And will audiences remain as engaged when the sequel, Catching Fire arrives?

Certainly, there is a built-in audience for this franchise, but those who have not read the Suzanne Collins series are already beginning to ask: for the Catching Fire movie, what’s next?

Warning there are some small Catching Fire spoilers ahead:

It is now fairly common knowledge that Peeta and ...

Taylor Lautner Ninja Turtles

[UPDATE: APRIL FOOLS!!!!!!!]

It’s been a rough couple weeks for die-hard fans of the “Heroes in a Half Shell” – as producer Michael Bay dropped one controversial Ninja Turtles tidbit after another. As a result, emotions have been running especially high with many fans of the 1980s cartoon series (and comic book source material) fearing that Bay is poised to once again ruin fond childhood memories (remember the flames on Optimus Prime?), this time with a live-action Turtles film adaptation that removes fan-favorite aspects of the lean, green, fighting machines.

Unfortunately, we’ve now received word of yet another controversial Ninja Turtles announcement – the casting of Twilight star (and teen heartthrob), Taylor Lautner, in the role of Turtle squad leader Leonardo.

The now-infamous producer officially announced the Lautner (aka Team Jacob) casting on his blog – asserting that ...
