Ensemble romantic comedies are often sweeping and superficial looks at the so-called entirety of the dating scene, rather than an investment in a single, deeper story about love. Films like He’s Just Not That Into You or any of the holiday-themed ensemble rom-coms of the last few years – Valentine’s Day, New Year’s Eve - are successes in large part because they attract a wide net of viewers with their star-studded casts. However, Think Like a Man has an uphill battle in that regard, since it features a cast of primarily African-American stars.

Guy Pearce Joining ‘Iron Man 3′ as ‘Extremis’ Geneticist

Guy Pearce cast as Aldrich Killian

While speculation surrounding which villain Ben Kingsley will be playing in Iron Man 3 has yet to be cleared, the cast of the film continues to grow – today adding Prometheus and Lockout star, Guy Pearce.

According to Variety, Pearce will play the geneticist Aldrich Killian. For those who aren’t familiar with Iron Man lore, Killian and Maya Hansen (Tony Stark’s old friend) create the Extremis technology, which was a tool designed for the military that allowed nanotechnology to bond to a human. But when the military pulled the funding for the project, Killian decides to test Extremis out in a much more nefarious way.

We can only speculate that Pearce and Kingsley’s characters’ paths will cross, thus creating a real problem for our hero Tony Stark. Because filming will take place ...

‘Journey 2′ Director to Write & Direct DC Comics’ ‘Lobo’ Movie

A big screen vehicle for DC Comics’ (in)famous alien bounty hunter Lobo was close to becoming a reality for the majority of 2009. However, thanks to would-be director Guy Ritchie’s decision to instead move ahead with a Sherlock Holmes sequel - and the under-performance of such DC comic adaptations as The Losers and Jonah Hex – Warner Bros. elected to put the project (essentially) on indefinite hold.

The studio is (at last) extracting its delayed Lobo movie from the depths of development limbo. However, the project now has a very different filmmaker in place to oversee its production.

Deadline is reporting that Journey 2: The Mysterious Island helmer Brad Peyton has been tapped to both rewrite and direct the Lobo movie adaptation. Peyton will presumably be working from the script draft penned by Don Payne (who’s now ...

‘Walking Dead’ Producer Developing Projects For Syfy & USA

Valhalla Entertainment, headed up by The Walking Dead executive producer Gale Anne Hurd, has signed an exclusive production deal with Universal Cable Productions, one production arm of NBCUniversal.

Hurd’s new arrangement will be to develop as well as produce an unknown number of new television projects for both cable and broadcast networks, which include USA Network and Syfy. The deal will mark the first of Valhalla Ent.’s overall TV deal and stems from the success of the studio’s first primetime series – AMC’s cult hit The Walking Dead.

Universal Cable Productions senior VPs Richard Rothstein, Chris Sanagustin and Maira Suro released a joint statement Monday, declaring the news:

Starz Gives ‘Boss’ Season 2 Premiere Date

Fans of the Starz drama series Boss won’t have to wait much longer for the second season to begin, as Starz announced that Boss season 2 will premiere Friday, August 17.

Boss centers around hard-boiled Chicago Mayor Thomas Kane (played by Grammer) who was recently diagnosed with a degenerative neurological disorder called DLB. To stay in office, Kane works carefully to conceal his disorder from everyone, including his closest advisors and his wife.  The controversial role of Mayor Kane won Grammer a Golden Globe and the actor also preforms double-duty on the political drama as an executive producer.
