‘Resident Evil 5′ Trailer: 3D Action, Zombies, & the Truth About Alice

Sony started off its marketing for the fifth installment in the Resident Evil live-action franchise, sub-titled Retribution (a.k.a. Re5ident Evil: Retribution), with a teaser trailer that pulled double-duty as a light-hearted satire of the company’s advertising for its electronic devices – while still serving as a (shameless?) product plug.

Today, however, we can offer a traditional theatrical promo for the new RE flick, which features the debut of fan-favorite characters from the original video game series, like Ada Wong (Bingbing Li) and Leon Scott Kennedy (Johann Urb). Established RE movie universe players Rain Ocampo (Michelle Rodriguez) and Carlos Oliveira (Oded Fehr) will also be making appearances (among others).

IMAX Segments For "Hunger" & "Trek" Sequels

0

IMAX Corporation have announced that both "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" and the upcoming "Star Trek" sequel will be released in the IMAX format next year.

More importantly, both films will utilize IMAX cameras to shoot portions of the film. As with "The Dark Knight" and "Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol", sequences shot with the extremely high-resolution cameras will switch aspect ratios to expand and fill the giant screens.

Abrams' 'Trek' follow-up will also be released in the immersive IMAX 3D format. It is scheduled to open May 17th 2013, while "Catching Fire" hits on November 22nd.

Third "Before Sunrise" To Shoot This Summer?

0

There was a nine-year gap between 1995's "Before Sunrise" and its 2004 follow-up "Before Sunset". The same length of time looks set to happen for a third film in the series which is aiming to be in cinemas next year.

Still untitled at present, Ethan Hawke confirmed to Indiewire recently that "we're doing a follow-up to Before Sunrise and Before Sunset, so that will be fun. We’re going to shoot that this summer."

Last November Hawke said "All three of us have been having similar feelings that we're ready to revisit those characters." Looks like they're following through on the promise.

The big question of course is what will the title be? "Before Moonrise," "Before Midnight"?
