‘Celeste and Jesse Forever’ Trailer: Rashida Jones & Andy Samberg Are Divorced BFF
0Romantic comedies and indie dramedies generally serve as great summer counter-programming – for those who aren’t in the mood to watch the latest action-packed blockbuster offering from Hollywood. Case in point: the same day the Total Recall remake and Bourne Legacy charge into theaters, Sony Classics will release the indie romantic dramedy, Celeste and Jesse Forever.
Celeste and Jesse Forever screened earlier this year at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival, where it received overall mixed-to-positive marks from critics and casual moviegoers alike. The films was co-written by Rashida Jones (The Office, Parks and Recreation), who headlines the picture alongside SNL veteran Andy Samberg – the latter being not-so-fresh off an appearance in the underperforming Adam Sandler yuckfest, That’s My Boy - and working under the direction of Lee Toland Krieger (The Vicious Kind).
Jones and Samberg ...

‘Hotel Transylvania’ Trailer: Dracula Has Human Problems
0Sony Pictures Animation’s Hotel Transylvania has some promising things going for it – a collection of classic movie monsters, the direction of animation icon Genndy Tartakovsky (Dexter’s Laboratory), and an all-star voice cast including, Adam Sandler, Kevin James, David Spade, Cee-Lo (The Mummy), Steve Buscemi, Selena Gomez, Andy Samberg and Fran Drescher.
The first trailer for Hotel Transylvania teased a classic spin on the cliched story, by having a human show up in a monster’s castle – only to terrify the monsters trying to vacation there in peace. This new trailer, however, paints something of a much more… shall we say, fluffy? Picture.
Dracula (Sandler) as a daddy? Parenting drama masked as a comedic monster movie? Another teaming of Andy Samberg and Adam Sandler after the not-so-well-received That’s My Boy? Yes, Hotel Transylvania appears to be all of the above. Fans of Genndy Tartakovsky will also ...

‘Ted’ Red-Band Featurette, Clip & TV Spots: MacFarlane’s Warm, Fuzzy, Screwed Up Fairy Tale [Updated]
0Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane is making the jump to the big screen with Ted, his new comedy starring Mark Wahlberg as John Bennett, a slacker who still hangs with his childhood teddy bear – who is, in fact, alive (and voiced with foul-mouthed fervor by MacFarlane). When John’s girlfriend Lori (Mila Kunis) tries to get closer, Ted finds himself becoming an unwelcome third wheel.
Today’s featurette paints the picture described above, while giving some finer brushstrokes to ideas the movie will explore. As a bonus (and for those who like that sort of thing), there is also plenty of R-rated language. In other words, the video above is NSFW.

Personally, I wasn’t sold on the trailer for Ted, but ...

Barry Sonnenfeld to Direct DC’s ‘Metal Men’ Movie
0
Rumors have been circulating about what ‘secret’ comic book adaptation Men in Black franchise director Barry Sonnenfeld recently became attached to helm (in addition to Dinosaurs Vs. Aliens). The answer: a movie version of DC Comics’ The Metal Men.
When you combine this news about Sonnenfeld being set to helm a Metal Men film – with previous reports that Warner Bros./DC also plans to move ahead with a Suicide Squad movie in the near future, there’s all the more evidence that the in-development DC movie universe (DCMU) could stand apart from Marvel’s, given the relatively-obscure titles being fashioned for the big screen.
Quick recap: DC’s Metal Men comic book property originated in the early 1960s and was published bi-monthly until 1978, due to the “DC Implosion.” The series returned in full in the early ’90s, and ...
