‘Transporter’ TV Series Gets Action-Packed Trailer

0

Jason Statham is pretty busy on the big screen with films like The Expendables 2 (hitting theaters this weekend), but that’s not keeping his film franchise The Transporter from heading to the small screen in the form of a new Cinemax TV show. The film series followed Frank Martin, an ex-Special Forces operator making a living as a no-questions-asked transporter of goods for dangerous people, and this new TV series aims to keep that action going.

Though the production hit a bit of a snag last year when series star Chris Vance was injured filming an action sequence, it looks like the series, which has dropped “The” from its title, is finally on the way to cable, and a new action-packed trailer has just arrived with plenty of chases, explosions and lovely ladies.

Chris Vance plays Frank Martin in this TV ...

The Expendables Classic Members Edition

Many action movie fans are thrilled to see their favorite action movie stars from the 80s and 90s team up in The Expendables 2. To coincide with the release of the first film in 2010, we previously assembled an All-Female Team of Expendables – but we wanted to go one step further this time around by putting together a list of characters from the “old school” action era with actors who have passed away, but were intimidating back in their day.

This list – which we have dubbed The Classic Expendables – brings together a baker’s dozen of classic action stars from the 50s, 60s and 70s. Each of these actors – with one exception – have all starred in some kind of action role prior to 1970.

On the following ...

Terry Gilliam is Making ‘The Zero Theorem’ With Christoph Waltz

Christoph Waltz starring in Terry Gilliam's The Zero Theorem

It’s honestly quite shocking when a long-gestating Terry Gilliam project actually happens, given the long list of ambitious ventures the Monty Python alum may never get to tackle (including, Good Omens and Man Who Killed Don Quixote). Hence, it’s fair to file the announcement about Gilliam’s The Zero Theorem moving forward under “surprising news of the day.”

Zero Theorem is based on a script by little-known writer Pat Rushin; some three years ago, Billy Bob Thornton was starring, with the late legendary producer Richard D. Zanuck (The Sting, Jaws) backing the endeavor. Zanuck’s son, Dean, has taken up the position left vacant by his father, while Oscar-winner Christoph Waltz (fresh off shooting for Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained) has replaced Thornton.

In Zero Theorem, Waltz plays an eccentric character (does he play any ...

Hugh Jackman Says ‘The Wolverine’ is a Non-Sequel With Fewer Mutants

The Wolverine 2 Interviews Hugh Jackman

While the world at large might see The Wolverine as “Wolverine 2,” 20th Century Fox and the filmmakers behind the next installment in the X-Men film franchise have always been trying to establish this as something of a fresh start for the character of Logan/Wolverine, as made famous onscreen by actor Hugh Jackman. Back when Oscar-nominated director Darren Aronofsky was helming the project, there was no doubt The Wolverine would be a superhero film unlike any previously seen in the X-Men canon (or beyond); under the direction of James Mangold (Walk the Line, 3:10 to Yuma) the shape and tone of the film have been less clear.

Production is underway on The Wolverine, which means Jackman is out doing his usual good job of PR and ...

Nic Cage Attached to ‘Expendables 3′; Clint Eastwood & Harrison Ford In Talks

nicolas cage ghost rider spirit vengeance movie

The Expendables 2 opens this weekend and is expected to dominate the competition, meaning Expendables 3 is more an inevitability than a far-fetched hope. Series producer Avi Lerner says they’ve already attached Nicolas Cage to play a character in the threequel – assuming it gets the green light (again, the odds are in its favor).

Lerner is also confirming that grizzled acting icons Clint Eastwood and Harrison Ford have been approached to join the Expendables crew for their third go-round. While that means the two are “in talks,” it should be emphasized their discussions are preliminary (so hold off on telling your friends that Dirty Harry and Indiana Jones are in a movie that features Rocky, Terminator, and The Transporter).

Cage was rumored for Expendables 2 last year, but that casting possibility did ...
