Tony Shalhoub Returns To TV In CBS Pilot From ‘How I Met Your Mother’ Producer
0Former Monk star Tony Shalhoub is looking to make his return to TV by joining the cast of CBS’ yet-untitled comedy pilot by How I Met Your Mother executive producer Rob Greenberg. Shalhoub is set to play Frank, a self-proclaimed ladies’ man with four divorces under his belt.
Formerly called Ex-Men, the half-hour project stars Chris Smith (Paranormal Activity 3) as a charming young man who moves into a short-term housing compound mainly populated by divorced men, after being left at the altar by his cold fiancée. Unofficial ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Logline Offers A Little Tease
0
There are six officially confirmed Marvel Studios productions underway, that together form “Phase Two” of the Marvel cinematic universe. Five of the six have a director, the one that does not is Guardians of the Galaxy.
Outside of concept art that confirms the core roster of Guardians of the Galaxy, a release date and a new screenwriter, little is known about what stories from Marvel Comics the film adaptation will draw from as it paves the way for The Avengers 2 the following summer. Production Weekly and The Grid both shared the following one-line description of Guardians of the Galaxy that may offer our first idea ...

FX’s ‘Totally Biased With W. Kamau Bell’ Taps Into ‘Chris Rock Show’ Roots
0Heading into its second episode, FX’s new Chris Rock-produced late-night series Totally Biased With W. Kamau Bell brings an updated take on the hit HBO series The Chris Rock Show. With Rock now behind-the-scenes, it’s up to W. Kamau Bell to spearhead the return of television’s rarely used – yet often heralded – format.
Cutting between in-studio pieces (like explaining the difference between Sikhs vs. Sheiks (below)) and pre-taped segments (like asking about getting frisked by the police in Harlem (above)), Bell’s new series manages to overcome the difficult obstacle of entertaining and informing viewers. Continuing this relaxed style into the couch segment, Bell trades the traditional interview for more of a conversation with his guests (which instantly makes them more compelling).
Touching on all topics of today’s society, comedian W. Kamau Bell uses the same type of earnest humor that Rock’s HBO Series ...

Tom Hardy & Michael Shannon Taking ‘The Long Red Road’
0
Dark Knight Rises‘ Bane (Tom Hardy) and Man of Steel‘s General Zod (Michael Shannon) are joining forces – but not in a Batman Vs. Superman live-action film, sadly. No, the rising stars are instead headlining The Long Red Road, an adaptation of Brett C. Leonard’s play from the newly-formed Whipsmart.
Hardy appeared in Leonard’s original work when it was staged two years ago at the Goodman Theater in Chicago (under Philip Seymour Hoffman’s direction). Leonard is penning the script for Long Red Road; it remains to be seen if Hoffman likewise has interest in handling helming duties on the project.
Long Red Road tells the tale of Sam (Hardy), a young alcoholic who has retreated to a South Dakota Indian reservation in the hopes of conquering his inner ...
