Now that Mad Max 4 (titled Mad Max: Fury Road) has begun filming, it’s high time that fans of the series get their first, closer look at the design of the film. New photos and concept art straight from the film’s set have found their way online, which prove – despite an entirely new cast – that this is still Mad Max.
Unfortunately, like the set photos that were released by cast members including Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, there are no images of Tom Hardy in the iconic Mel Gibson role. Photos of Hardy in public have shown a tremendous beard is growing beneath that chiseled jaw, but how that works in terms of Mad Max’s overall appearance is unclear.
Our guess is that the decision to have Hardy abandon a clean-cut look will help emphasize the sense of place in Fury Road. These are, after all, savages that must ...

So far, this season of Breaking Bad has presented Walt’s crumbling family life as yet another example of what he’s given up in pursuit of whatever it is that he’s hoping to accomplish. Now, there is a certain bit of disclosure regarding Walter White (Bryan Cranston) amongst his two partners Jesse (Aaron Paul) and Mike (Jonathan Banks) that, for Jesse, may be a little surprising and very depressing. Gone is the man who was in this for the future of his family, and in his place, Jesse now sees a man who is intent on building an empire no matter the cost.
This fact about Walt is most telling after he welcomes Jesse into his house, and then insists he stay over for a historically uncomfortable dinner with Skyler (Anna Gunn). During the meal, ...

Clocking in at almost two-and-a-half hours, The Avengers was certainly not a movie that minced words. Director Joss Whedon’s script, while succinctly tying in several years of Marvel movie world-building, still gave the appropriate amount of time for each major character – from Iron Man to Black Widow – to breathe. But, if Whedon were to tell audiences that there were minor scenes left out of the film – scenes that delved deeper into the minds of these self-searching characters – few would be surprised.
Such is the nature of this new Avengers deleted scene, which comes to us by way of Entertainment Weekly and is packaged in with the Blu-ray/DVD release of the film. The scene itself is placed between the moment Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk comes crashing down from the S.H.I.E.L.D. helicarrier and when he arrives ...

The Doctor has been in many dangerous and downright weird predicaments over his long alien life – but save the Daleks? – that can’t be right? The highly-anticipated seventh series of BBC’s astonishing space drama Doctor Who may not have a set release date yet, but in a new trailer for the premiere episode Asylum of the Daleks it appears the Doctor has to rescue his worst enemies.
For those new to the TARDIS and not too familiar with the Daleks – they are debatably the most fearsome creatures the Doctor has ever faced. Created by the mad scientist Davros during the final years of a thousand-year war, the Daleks are cybernetic hybrids genetically modified and integrated within a tank-like robotic mechanical shell, made from the original inhabitants of the planet Skaro, the Kaleds. Having every emotion genetically stripped from them ...

The new red-band clip from Lionsgate’s Dredd sees scarred drug lord Madeline ‘Ma-Ma’ Madrigal (Lena Headey) declare open season on the pair of Judges skulking around her base of operations, the futuristic Peach Trees compound. It’s one of the rare quiet moments in Dredd, as anyone who caught the advanced screening at Comic-Con 2012 can testify.
Director Pete Travis keeps his foot pressed down on the gas pedal for most of the comic book film’s running time, resulting in lots of blazing shoot-outs between Judge Dredd (Karl Urban), Judge Anderson (Olivia Thirlby) and Ma-Ma’s minions – most noteworthy of which are the 3D sequences imitating the effects of the “Slo-Mo” drug, allowing viewers to watch bloody mayhem “at a fraction of its normal speed.”
Headey as Ma-Ma doesn’t have much screen time once the fireworks get going in Dredd, but her appearances ...
