Riverdale‘s Cheryl Blossom will apparently be channeling a fellow strong-willed heroine in season 2, Mad Max: Fury Road‘s Furiosa. In The CW drama’s freshman run, Cheryl had to grapple with an increasingly tragic storyline. First, her beloved twin brother, Jason, was murdered, forcing her virtuous small town into a harrowing whodunnit. As the season wore on, it also became clear her parents had favored Jason, leaving Cheryl starved for love and attention. A “Mamma Mia” Sequel To Hit Next Year


Nearly ten years after the release of the first film, a sequel to the 2008 musical “Mamma Mia! The Movie” is in the works at Universal Pictures.

“The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel” writer Ol Parker will pen the film titled “Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again!” which Playtone Pictures will produce.

Some of the original cast is expected to return along with some new faces. Meryl Streep, Amanda Seyfried, Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth, Stellan Skarsgard, Julie Walters, Christine Baranski and Dominic Cooper all starred in the first which grossed a whopping $609 million worldwide.

The soundtrack is expected to include several ABBA songs not featured in the first, along with some “reprised favorites”.

Judy Craymer and Gary Goetzman will produce while ABBA members Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus are aboard again to provide music and lyrics and serve as executive producers.

Filming aims to begin production later this year ahead of a release on July 20th next year.
