Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is headed for a massive $275 million worldwide opening. The Pirates of the Caribbean franchise has always been enormous at the worldwide box office, with the first four films taking in $3.7 billion in total ticket sales. The biggest grosser of those four films was 2006’s Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest which finished with $1.066 billion, a hair ahead of 2011’s On Stranger Tides which made $1.045 billion. Although Gadot made her stunning debut as Wonder Woman in 2016’s Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, a solo movie featuring the Amazon warrior princess has been a long time coming.
