The visual effects budget for Arrow surprisingly makes up one-tenth of the effects budget for The Flash. It’s no secret that production budgets can reduce (or increase) the quality of movies — and the same goes for TV shows. Some shows out there have suffered greatly from their elementary visual effects, which are largely due to those shows struggling to make ends meet with their low visual effects budgets. The writer’s room for Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. begins work on the upcoming season 5. The ABC series recently wrapped up its fourth season on the network, tying together three relatively disparate plot threads – broken down into “pods” – revolving around Robbie Reyes aka Ghost Rider (Gabriel Luna), Life Model Decoys like Aida (Mallory Jansen), and the simulated alternate reality called the Framework. Of course, the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 4 finale ended with a cliffhanger, depicting Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) in some kind of spaceship after an unknown length of time.
Between his unique appearance, cool powers, and introspective nature, Kurt Wagner, AKA Nightcrawler, may be one of the most underrated characters of all comic history. Writers seemed to use his faith as his main defining characteristic in the movies, completely neglecting the sharp, insightful mutant with the surprising leadership qualities that fans know from his days with Excalibur.

Following his work on the critically acclaimed drama that is The Wire and the underrated musically tinged series in the form of Treme, Simon has set his sights next on the rise of the pornography industry in 1970s Times Square, New York.
