Dennis Quaid is set to play President George W. Bush in the upcoming FX drama “Katrina: American Crime Story”.
The second installment of Ryan Murphy’s new anthology series will focus on the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, a time when Bush was President and was widely criticized for the government’s response.
Quaid has previously played President Bill Clinton, and played a fictional variation on George W. Bush in “American Dreamz”. Quaid joins previously announced cast members Annette Bening, Matthew Broderick, and Sarah Paulson.
Murphy is already in production on the third season, “Versace: American Crime Story,” which will focus on the murder of fashion designer Gianni Versace which stars Edgar Ramirez, Ricky Martin, Penelope Cruz and Darren Criss.
“Katrina: American Crime Story” is expected to premiere in early 2018.
