Fargo’s Carrie Coon Joins Steve McQueen’s Heist Film Widows

Carrie Coon’s meteoric rise continues as she joins Steve McQueen’s upcoming heist film Widows. Hot off the heels of powerhouse performances in both FX’s Fargo and HBO’s The Leftovers, the actor will be joining an all star cast that already includes Viola Davis, Elizabeth Debicki, Michelle Rodriguez, Liam Neeson, Colin Farrell, and Daniel Kaluuya.

Coon will join the cast once she’s finished filming her role in Steven Spielberg’s upcoming drama The Papers, which also stars Tom Hanks, Meryl Streep, Alison Brie, and Sarah Paulson. Dwayne Johnson finally has a co-star for one of his (many) upcoming action movies. Up until now, Johnson was the only name on the cast list for the action movie Skyscraper, but now the ex-wrestler will be joined by Neve Campbell in what looks to be a high-octane mixture of The Towering Inferno and Die Hard.

The project was the result of a bidding war between studios, who were apparently suitably impressed by the script, and fell into the hands of Legendary with Johnson already attached to the lead role.
