Besides Superman and Batman, there’s perhaps no other superhero as popular or famous as Spider-Man. Yet they can’t compete with the Web Slinger’s licensing revenue. Peter Parker’s alter ego remains the most profitable of the three to the tune of 1.3 billion in product sales each year. So it’s not too surprising that later this summer, we’ll see the third incarnation of the character on the big screen in 20 years.
