NBC announces that the revival of Will & Grace, season 1 of which premieres this September on the network, has already been renewed for season 2. The original Will & Grace, which ran from 1998 to 2006, can easily be categorized as a success. The eight seasons were not only groundbreaking with its lead LGBT characters, but the show was largely well received by both critics and fans. Now, for generations to come, young kids will interact with characters who – just a few years ago – were essentially unknown by 99 percent of the U.S. population. If that’s not a victory in terms of long-term customer acquisition, I don’t know what is.

Not everything is perfect for the company though. ...

Pacific Rim Uprising’s Jaegers Have ‘Better Upgrades’

Pacific Rim 2 - Uprising Jaegers

John Boyega says the Kaiju are much more intelligent in Pacific Rim Uprising and the Jaegers have even better upgrades. The upcoming Pacific Rim sequel arrives five years after Guillermo del Toro’s original film hit theaters in 2013. Although the movie received generally positive reviews, it wasn’t quite the success story that Universal and Legendary Pictures were hoping for. It grossed $411 million at the worldwide box office (of which only $101.8 million was earned domestically) against an estimated production budget of $190 million. Thanks in large part to its overwhelming success in China, the studio has since commissioned a sequel.

The upcoming Steven S. DeKnight-directed sequel takes place 10 years after ...
