RLJE Films has scored all North American rights to “Bone Tomahawk” director S. Craig Zahler’s prison drama “Brawl in Cell Block 99” with plans for a U.S. release on October 6th.
RLJE released Zahler’s acclaimed cannibal western back in 2015 and so return for this which stars Vince Vaughn, Jennifer Carpenter, Udo Kier, Marc Blucas and Don Johnson.
Vaughn plays a former boxer who loses his job as an auto mechanic, and his troubled marriage is about to end. At this crossroads in his life, he feels that he has no better option than to work for an old buddy as a drug courier.
Soon thrown in prison, his enemies force him to commit acts of violence that turn the place into a savage battleground.
“Brawl in Cell Block 99” premieres at the Venice International Film Festival before heading on to Toronto and Fantastic Fest.
