“I think it requires a moment to just take a breath, to appreciate it, to look around, admire the holy s–tness of it all, because what you fans did is quite frankly unbelievable.”
“Sense8” co-creator/producer/director Lana Wachowski has assembled a 15-minute heartfelt thank you video to all the fans of the Netflix sci-fi series for helping to revive the show.
Back in June came word Netflix was cancelling “Sense8” after two seasons, leaving the show on a cliffhanger ending. Fans began intense campaigning which resulted in the streaming giant greenlighting a two-hour series finale episode.
As Wachowski says in the video, this kind of thing just doesn’t happen:
“The idea that a very publicly announced cancellation of a show, which included a direct rebuttal to the fans after their initial response, could be reversed by the persistent, passionate, rather creative campaign is a bit of a stuff of a Frank Capra movie.”
The video offers video clips from all the main cast and key crew thanking fans, offering some fun nods and showcasing home video from their days at work on the series.
The series stars Brian J. Smith, Jamie Clayton, Tuppence Middleton, Max Riemelt, Toby Onwumere, Tina Desai, Miguel Angel Silvestre, Donna Bae, Naveen Andrews and Terrence Mann are all expected back for the finale which will air next year.
