The Crown Season 2 Trailer & Premiere Date: Elizabeth Has Problems
The trailer for season 2 of the critically acclaimed biographical drama series The Crownhas been released online. Serving as an extension to series creator and writer Peter Morgan’s work on the Oscar winning 2006 film The Queen, Mogan’s production for Netflix follows the early life of Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom.
The Crown is slated to run for six seasons – consisting of 10 one-hour episodes per season – with Claire Foy in the lead role as the young Queen Elizabeth II. Following the events previously depicted in season 1, which centered around Elizabeth’s marriage to Philip, Duke of Edinburgh in 1947, up to the separation of her sister Princess Margaret from Peter Townsend in 1955, season 2 is all set to explore the Suez Crisis of 1956 and the ignominious retirement of the Queen’s third Prime Minister, Harold Macmillan, in 1963.
