Destiny 2 has been out for just over one week and it has already broken multiple records. The first installment in the Destiny franchise hit last generation and current generation consoles three years ago, marking Bungie’s first title release since breaking off their partnership with Microsoft Studios – and selling off the Halo franchise – years before. The game was highly anticipated and immensely popular upon release, so much that it sold a whopping $500 million worth of copies within its first day, thus making it the biggest new franchise launch in gaming history.
