Pennywise continued to make the box office competition float, despite the presence of two new wide releases in theaters.
As expected, IT won the weekend with $60 million in its second frame. The Stephen King adaptation held well, falling 51.4 percent from its record-shattering debut. After the film posted as high numbers as it did at the outset, some slip in business was believed to happen, but this is still a very impressive showing for a movie that was perfectly timed.
