A viral marketing campaign for season 2 of Stranger Things promotes the fictional company Hawkins Power and Light with a working phone number fans can call. Netflix’s hit sci-fi horror series Stranger Things is coming back for its second season just in time for Halloween and its marketing game is at its peak right now.

Ben Mendelsohn may be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the Big Bad in Captain Marvel. Marvel Studios is finally gearing up to start production on its first female-led superhero movie. Oscar-winner Brie Larson is set to headline the film, which finally found directors earlier this year in Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, making Boden the first woman to get directing credit on a MCU film.
Details on Carol Danvers’ solo mission have been scant for quite some time, but that all changed at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. There Marvel revealed Nick Fury’s presence in the film, a 1990s setting, and that it would center on the Kree/Skrull war.
Before Professor Pyg debuts on this week’s Gotham, a new clip offers a tease of the chaos he’ll bring to the city. As it heads into its fourth season, no one could claim that Gotham has been shy about bringing DC characters to the small screen. While the titular city has been desperately low on heroes, villains big and small have popped up over the years. Characters like the Riddler and Selina Kyle have slowly grown, while new additions like Solomon Grundy are just now arriving. This week, Professor Pyg will be added to that list.

FXX will air a 13-hour Treehouse of Horror Marathon on Halloween, in celebration of The Simpsons’ legacy of frightful parodies. The annual Simpsons tradition began way back in season 2, and has continued ever since. The most recent installment aired this past Sunday, and featured send-ups of such properties as The Exorcist and Coraline. While Treehouse of Horror began as an almost entirely horror-focused event, recent years have seen the targets of parody branch out to include sci-fi, fantasy, and general pop culture.
