Will Lucasfilm And Disney Move Towards 2 Movies Per Year?
If Disney and Lucasfilm continue developing more Star Wars movies, will they start releasing two movies per year going forward? When the Mouse House acquired Lucasfilm in 2012, they announced plans to release one Star Wars movie per year; alternating between core saga episodes and anthology films, which also meant that the mainline Star Wars installments would release every two years. For those that don’t know, all three installments in George Lucas’ original Star Wars trilogy released three years apart, with each chapter in the filmmaker’s prequel trilogy also releasing three years apart.
