A deleted scene from Justice League showcases the much discussed black version of Superman’s costume, a nod to the character’s resurrection following the famous Death of Superman comic book story in the ’90s.

Paralleling that iconic comic book narrative, Superman met his cinematic end at the hands of the monstrous Doomsday in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. It was a given the Man of Steel would be returning for the much anticipated Justice League, and fans were anticipating another homage in the guise of the black costume – and maybe even his luxurious mid-’90s mullet – that he sported upon his comic book return.
