Film adaptations are strange beasts — they hardly ever satisfy everyone. While some adaptations are made entirely in the spirit of the original story, many attempt to translate a story for one group of fans into a movie for another. Now, depending on who you ask, Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings trilogy may fall into either group here.
