WITCHFINDER: Hellboy Spinoff Comic Exclusive Preview

Sir Edward Grey, Queen Victoria's personal Witchfinder (i.e. paranormal investigator) is the best at what he does, but when a string of occult-related thefts leave him baffled, he must work alongside some newly discovered allies to figure out what threat these thefts pose and how stop it!

Witchfinder: The Gates of Heaven #1 is the first installment in a new Dark Horse Comics mini-series of the Hellboy spinoff from creator Mike Mignola and Chris Roberson. The Witchfinder series sees Edward Grey do battle with witches, occultists, and secret societies (most notably, the Heliopic Brotherhood of Ra) while in the service of her Her Majesty Queen Victoria. Eventually, one such adventure will result in Grey being dragged to Hell, cursed with eternal life, dismembered and then stitched back together. It's in this form, withered and corpse-like, that Grey appears in stories set in the modern day Mignolaverse, such as the second Hellboy mini-series, Wake the Devil.
Click to continue reading WITCHFINDER: Hellboy Spinoff Comic Exclusive Preview

The post WITCHFINDER: Hellboy Spinoff Comic Exclusive Preview appeared first on ScreenRant

There’s ‘No Doubt’ Han Shoots First In Solo

Solo: A Star Wars Story screenwriters Lawrence and Jon Kasdan explain how the spinoff film addresses one of the biggest debates in franchise lore. Arguably the most infamous alteration in the original trilogy special edition was Han Solo's encounter with Greedo. In the 1977 theatrical cut, the smuggler ends their conversation by shooting the Rodian bounty hunter in cold blood. However, George Lucas tinkered with the scene for various home media releases, making it so that Greedo got a shot off (and missed Han at point blank range) before meeting his demise. Many saw this as an unforgivable change to Han's character, and "Han shot first!" became a rallying cry for those who prefer the original version.

The fact of the matter, however, is that the 2011 Blu-rays (where Han acts more in self-defense) are what Lucasfilm considers official franchise canon. It begged the question of how Solo would address the matter if Han were to find himself in a similar situation. For those rooting for a return to the ruthless gunslinger, the Solo creative team answered your call.
Click to continue reading There's 'No Doubt' Han Shoots First In Solo

The post There's 'No Doubt' Han Shoots First In Solo appeared first on ScreenRant

Mowgli Trailer: The Jungle Book Gets a Darker Makeover

Andy Serkis puts a fresh spin on The Jungle Book in the first trailer for his motion-capture film, Mowgli. Serkis has been working on the project for over four years, during which time Disney released director Jon Favreau's own Jungle Book movie with photo-real CGI animals. Serkis, however, has long maintained that Mowgli hews closer to the dark fairy tale tone of Rudyard Kipling's source material than the Mouse House's relatively whimsical and kid friendly rendition. Mowgli's now-official PG-13 rating is a testament to just that.

Mowgli re-tells the famous story of its namesake (Rohan Chand), a human boy raised in the jungles of India by a wolf pack and hunted by the man-hating tiger Shere Khan (Benedict Cumberbatch). Serkis' film, which was written by Callie Kloves, further features an all-star cast that includes Serkis and Christian Bale as Mowgli's mentors Baloo the bear and Bagheera the panther, as well as Cate Blanchett as Kaa the snake and Naomie Harris as Mowgli's wolf mom Nisha. Unlike the actors in Favreau's Jungle Book, the stars of Mowgli brought their animal characters to life via mo-cap performance, in addition to voicing them.
Click to continue reading Mowgli Trailer: The Jungle Book Gets a Darker Makeover

The post Mowgli Trailer: The Jungle Book Gets a Darker Makeover appeared first on ScreenRant

How to Get Kratos’ Infinity Gauntlet in God of War

One of God of War's coolest secrets is that it features the Infinity Gauntlet in-game. Of course, it's not called that officially due to legal reasons, but everyone knows that the "Shattered Gauntlet of Ages" is a timely reference to Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War. Considering it's shattered, it takes some work to get it back up to spec, but it's well worth repairing as it winds up being one of the coolest and most powerful things in the game.

The first step is getting the gauntlet itself. This is done by completing two optional missions in the action game. First up is the "Fafnir's Storeroom" quest, which is unlocked after one of the key story chapters, "The Sickness." After completing it, players just have to do complete the "Family Business" favor, and they'll be rewarded with the broken gauntlet.
Click to continue reading How to Get Kratos' Infinity Gauntlet in God of War

The post How to Get Kratos' Infinity Gauntlet in God of War appeared first on ScreenRant
